So, I’m about to finish reading The Secret Speech, the sequel of Tom Rob Smith’s Child 44, which Rob has been allegedly cast to play the main character, Liev Demidov in the book adaptation.
Since I’ve read the Bronze Horseman trilogy and have no hopes that Rob could be attached to its adaptation to cinema/TV, I really, really, really hope that the rumors about Child 44 are true.
I love both stories (TBH heaps more), and I’m sure Rob could fit perfectly both as Alexander Belov and Liev Demidov.
At this point on my TSS reading, I just cannot tell whether Liev or Alexander suffers the most. I have devoured the books just like I did with TBH, in two or three days, I found myself at 3am breathless, eager to find Liev safe and happy, because I simply couldn’t sleep thinking about how the story would end.
The Bronze Horseman (and Alexander) still are my favorites, but Child 44 (and Liev) have definitely conquered a special place in my favorite’s shelf. ;)
